Why does the pretreatment process of poly/cotton combination fabric add heat setting?

Heat setting is an special process for the synthetic fibre and combination fabric. Polyester is thermoplastic fiber, the polyester fiber will becomes shrinkage strain adn apron mark when making damp and hot working, only the hot setting process not only can avoid the upper defects, but also can improve the textile performances of gloss, handfeeling, strength, anti-pilling. The temperature of hot setting should be strict controlled, otherwise will influence the textile’s dyeing property, heat stability and surface smoothness.
Poly/cotton combination fabric usually adopts dry hot setting process, which will lower the textile radial direction tension, enlarge width, it also can makes the textile retraction on radial direction.
Following are the hot setting process orders:
1)greige setting, it can removes textile’s inner stress in the process of textile production, severe deformation and the apron mark. But the high temperature of the setting process will makes difficult to remove oil contamination, so this means is seldom done.
2)Setting in the middle process, after the bleaching, before dying, this method does not affect desizeing, it also can remove the apron mark in the pretreatment process, reduce the textile width in the dyeing process, avoid low quality dye pollute the machine and textile, only thing to note is control the setting temperature, this method is widely used.
3)Setting is processed after dyeing printing and finishing, it can increase solubility, reduced dyes colour yield, good dimensional stability and good flatness, however,it is important to chooce high fastness dye, this method is seldom used.
