1. Anti-static fiber resistance
Under the standard condition ( RH 65%, 20℃ ), the fiber which reach the resistance level can be called anti-static fiber. At present, the most common way is composite spinning method, which means spin the fiber into sea-island fiber or shearth-core composite fiber, the base island phase or core part is made of polymer that contains anti-static agent, and as sea phase or shearth part, the base polymer provide a protection to the anti-static part, so that it can keep a long time anti-static property without losing original fiber style. The common electric resistance of anti-static fiber is about 108-1012Ω•cm. In order to provide the anti-static property to fabric, the anti-static fiber content in fabric should be more than 50%. The fiber anti-static property will be affected by weather condition, the anti-static performance will reduce under the low temperature or dry condition.
2. Conductive Fiber
There is not a exact and accepted definition of conductive fiber. Generally, the fiber that got electrical resistivity is less than 107Ω•cm can be define as a conductive fiber. The conductive fiber which apply to textile should got appropriate fineness, length, strength and flexibility, it should be well combined with other common fiber, it should be easy blending and interweaving, it should got well abrasive resistance, bend resistance, oxidative resistance and corrosion resistance, it should bear the fabric producing and physical and mechanical use; It should not affect appearance and handfeel of fabric; it should got a well conductive property and durability. The varities of conductive fiber including: metal fiber (stainless steel fiber, copper fiber, aluminum fiber, nickel fiber etc..), carbon fiber and organic electric fiber.
3. Anti-static process
The anti-static process method of textile generally including: (1). Finishing by fabric anti-static finishing agent; (2). For increasing fabric hygroscopicity, blending and interweaving hydrophilic fiber into fabric; (3). Blending or interweaving conductive fiber. The function mechanism of 2 former ways are all belong to increasing fabric moisture regain and decreasing insulativity then speed up electrical static leaking. Therefore the property will lose the durability and performance in the dry condition or after washing several times; Only the third method can solve the electronic static problem enduringly and effectively, and it can be applied to functional workwear such as anti-static workwear etc..
4. Anti-static agent
Modern chemical industry developed a kind of anti-static agent which can be applied to synthetic fiber and plastic production. It can give a play to restraining the generating and accumulating of electronic static, and also helping static to leak. Anti-static agent is a generic terms of the agent which inhibit electronic static on insulating material surface such as resin, or which can reduce accumulation of static-electricity. They play a very important role in producing, processing and using of the synthetic material, especially for stopping occurrence and accumulation of electronic static, and for overcoming charge on fiber friction, it is important in nowadays of electric information age. Generally, anti-static agents are inorganic material such as metal powder and carbon etc., Polysiloxane compounds and surfactants etc. The most applied agent is outer surface anti-static agent in nowadays, it can be applied to surface coating while synthetic fiber producing and processing; As the additive and anti-static agent of synthetic film and mold production, outer surface anti-static agent including anionic, cationoid, non-ionic and amphiprotic surfactants.
