Chinese National Standard for Flame Retardant Fabric Standards
1 GB2408-80 horizontal burning test method
The horizontal test method is to test the combustion performance of the flame retardant fabric sample under self-supporting under laboratory conditions.
2 GB2409-84 vertical combustion method
The vertical burning method is a method of classifying the combustion after applying a flame to a flame retardant fabric sample having a certain specification vertically under prescribed conditions.
3 GB2406-80 oxygen index test method
Oxygen Index (OI) - refers to the minimum oxygen content of the desired mixture when the plastic is burned. The average concentration of oxygen in the air is 21%. Generally, the oxygen index is less than 21 for flammable fabrics, 22-27 for self-extinguishing fabrics, and 27 for flame retardant fabrics. The method is relatively simple, the digital reproducibility is good, and the performance of the flame retardant fabric is digitally expressed, so it is widely used abroad (for example, the oxygen index test standard in the United States is ANST/ASTM D2863-1977).
