Flame Retardant Overalls Tactics

2019-05-29 09:06 | writer: admin

We all know that flame retardant overalls take the responsibility of life protection. If you wear very thin flame retardant protective workwear with stains, holes or wear, it is dangerous for the wearer, so how to clean and care flame retardant overalls is more and more important.
  1. How to clean?

Instead industrial laundry, home laundry is a safer, more cost-effective way and helps extent the durability and protective performance.

Proper selection of the detergent is the key point. If washed according to the washing instructions, its chemical properties will not be washed away over time. Liquid Tide (for top-loading washing machines) or liquid HE Tide (for front-loading washing machines) provides optimum cleaning performance.

For heavily contaminated clothing, wash it at the highest temperature allowed by the label (usually warm water wash) to remove stains.

  2. Shrinkage

Although some flame retardant fabrics shrink larger than others, there are several ways to make the flame retardant overall last as long as possible.

Most garments, including cotton, shrink when cleaned. Like many non flame retardant fabrics, flame retardant fabrics are easily contracted regardless of being produced by any  manufacturer.

To our notice, 2/3 shrinkage problems happen in the beginning five washes. It is recommended to wash clothes at "warm" temperatures during washing. Once you are satisfied with this fitted outfit, you can keep it the same size as other clothes and use the clothesline to dry the clothes instead of using a dryer. If it is necessary to use the dryer, take it out of the dryer while it is still little wet. Drying at high temperatures can cause excessive shrinkage. The maximum shrinkage occurs at over drying.

  3. Service life

Do you have idea when to retire a flame retardant overalls? If any of the following situations appear, stop wearing them to reduce the possibility of injury.

  a. The edge is torn or worn.

The clothing is stained by flammable substances that cannot be removed by washing. If exposed to flames or arc, flammable thing can be ignited and continue to burn—even if the clothes themselves do not burn.

  b. Have been exposed to bleach.

There are worn collars, worn cuffs or torn, open seams. When repairing flame retardant, heat resistant and arc resistant overalls, the same accessories as the original production should be used to keep the performance of protection. Clothing that is irreparably damaged or for other safety reasons shall not be reused and discarded.

Knowing how to properly clean to ensure that your clothes will reach the expected service life and protect the function of the clothes. At the same time, it is important for safety to recognize when it must be repaired or replaced.
